Will my insurance cover my physical therapy?

We work with all major insurance companies, but please remember that every plan is different and you may want to call your insurance company to get a better understanding of your coverage.
Do I need to be referred by my doctor?
Physical therapists in New Jersey have “Direct Access” meaning you do not need a doctor’s prescription – but we like to work closely with your healthcare provider. “Direct Access” also means you, the patient, can choose where you go for therapy. Medicare, Workers Comp and auto insurance patients require a prescription from a doctor or other healthcare professional.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring your referral for physical therapy from your doctor and your insurance information. If you are covered by Workers Compensation or auto insurance, please bring your claim information and your case manager’s contact information. If you have engaged an attorney, please bring the contact information.

We have all the necessary paperwork available on the website. You can simply download the forms, and fill them out at your convenience. Please bring them to your first appointment along with your other information.
What should I wear?
Loose-fitting, comfortable clothing is recommended. Please wear sneakers or comfortable shoes designed for movement. You may want to wear or bring shorts if we are treating an ankle or knee.
What should I expect during my first visit?
The therapist will obtain a history and do an examination. This will consist of reviewing your condition and performing relevant tests and measurements. The therapist will often begin treatment and will formulate a plan of care for you.
Will PT be painful?
